Professor Leads Small Business and Entrepreneurship Program
Since arriving at CSUB two years ago, professor Jeremy Woods has jump-started BPA’s small business and entrepreneurship program. Over the past two years, the program has trained over 100 students in core entrepreneurial skills such as web development, guerilla marketing, competitive research, patent research, grant research, and investor outreach. Students have applied these skills on over 30 different class projects for area small businesses, delivering tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of labor to help these businesses increase revenues, decrease costs, secure valuable intellectual property rights, and attract investment dollars. The top 10% of these project students have also “graduated” to work as junior consultants for CSUB’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) including: Azam Almasri, Wesley Bishop, Owen Douglas, and Rebecca Ilodibia.
