Dr. Ankita Agarwal is an Assistant Professor and teaches Strategic Management and Human Resource Management for the College of Business and Public Administration at California State University, Bakersfield. She received her Ph.D. in Strategic Management from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2020. Prior to coming to the US, she earned a Ph.D. and an MBA in Human Resource Management in India. Her professional experience includes four years of teaching as a lecturer and four years of corporate experience as an HR Generalist.
Her main research interests include shareholder activism, gender diversity, corporate governance, and internationalization. She recently published a paper on cross-border mergers and acquisitions in International Business Review journal. She has also presented her research at international level conferences, including the Academy of Management, Strategic Management Society, Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and the Academy of International Business. Dr. Agarwal is a member of the Academy of Management and Southern Management Association and has served as an ad-hoc reviewer for International Journal of Bank Marketing and proceedings for conferences such as the Academy of Management. Dr. Agarwal has received the Best Paper Award at the Academy of Management (2019) in the International Management division and Distinguished Ph.D. Student Publication Award (University of Texas at Arlington).
